About AddrGen

AddrGen is a modern developer utility created to solve a persistent challenge in software engineering: generating structurally accurate postal test data without compromising personal privacy.

The Problem with Traditional Test Data

Historically, software developers and QA testers frequently resorted to scraping live directories, using internal production data dumps, or manually typing placeholder values like “123 Fake Street”.

Using real personal records in development environments introduces catastrophic privacy risks, violating regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. Conversely, using overly simplistic placeholders fails form validation rules (e.g. failing 5-digit ZIP code regex or UK alphanumeric postcode syntax).

Our Synthetic Approach

AddrGen bridges this divide by generating 100% fictional yet structurally authentic addresses. We map realistic municipal districts to authentic postal code prefixes, regional phone exchanges, and national street conventions.

Every phone number generated uses officially allocated fictional ranges (such as the North American 555-01XX range or UK Ofcom drama ranges).

Architectural Philosophy

  • Zero Storage: No databases, no logging of generated records, and no cookies.
  • CSPRNG Randomness: Powered by the browser's cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator.
  • Server-Rendered SEO: Built on Next.js App Router for optimal indexability, rapid page load speeds, and clean semantic markup.
  • Open & Accessible: No account signup, paywalls, or API keys required.
